How It All Began
In November 1998, the Chuang family opened House of Japan in Dublin, Ohio. The goal was simple—serve great food and make the experience fun. From day one, guests enjoyed meals cooked right in front of them by skilled chefs. This idea quickly caught on, making House of Japan a favorite local spot.
A Growing Idea in Columbus
Thanks to strong support, a second location opened just four years later near Polaris Fashion Mall at 8701 Sancus Blvd, Columbus, OH 43240. Like the original, it offers the same live cooking and cozy feel, giving more families, couples, and friends a chance to enjoy the unique setup.
Food with a Twist
The chefs don’t just cook—they put on a show. With flying shrimp tails, flaming onion volcanoes, and quick tricks, the table becomes part of the fun. Meals like filet mignon, lobster, shrimp, and chicken are grilled fresh right in front of each guest. It’s dinner and entertainment rolled into one.
A Place Built for Everyone 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Both locations—Columbus and Dublin—are made for all kinds of guests. Families, couples, friends, and solo diners all find a warm and cozy space to enjoy good food and good moments. Friendly staff, fun chefs, and flavorful meals bring everyone together.
